Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
