Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a final set.

He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
